Between the early twelfth and the late fifteenth centuries, many French texts were written by Italian-speaking authors or in Italian-speaking locations. Indeed, texts and writers in the medieval era knew no national boundaries. The French of Italy Website focuses on this linguistically diverse medieval world. Scholars in the Fordham Center for Medieval Studies continue to break new ground in this arena by providing background information and commentary on individual authors and texts, bibliographic lists of primary and relevant secondary sources, and a monitored discussion list on this website.
