This session will introduce data curation, a set of practices that borrow from library science, archival description, records management, computer science and humanities disciplines in order to capture, arrange, and document the sources and decisions that produce humanities research data. Directed at researchers collecting data in spreadsheets, this workshop will provide an overview of the research data life cycle and provide guidance on structuring data that is machine-readable & interoperable, organizing data documentation, and publishing opportunities within open access repositories.
